Babinda Kayak Hire provides you with the opportunity to experience one of North Queensland’s little known natural wonders. Nestled between Queensland’s two highest mountains, you will gently drift with the current down 9 km of Babinda Creek. The backdrop of Mt Bartle Frere and Mt Bellenden Kerr provides a visual wonderland as you drift past rain forest creek banks. The cane fields you also pass remind you of the mainstay of the local economy. Paronella Park

On 5 Hectares beside Mena Creek Falls he built his castle, picnic area by the waterfall, tennis courts, bridges, a tunnel, and wrapped it up in an amazing range of 7,500 tropical plants and trees. He even harnessed the waterfall for his electricity. It opened to the public in 1935. Mark and Judy Evans purchased the long forgotten property in 1993 and set about developing it into one of Queensland's premier tourist destinations. Today, visitors to the Park journey back in time and marvel at the achievements of this industrious visionary. Guided walks, both during the day and at night, share the mysteries of Paronella Park and the story of José Paronella, his challenges and triumphs. Paronella Park is recognised as a leader in Ecotourism, one of Australia's best wedding venues, is a multiple QLD Tourism Awards winner, and is considered a must do for visitors to the region.
